    Mansfield Park

Mansfield Park was established in 1961. The original site was given to the City in 1946 by Mr. Monte Mansfield. The park has since been expanded and currently holds Northwest Center, a major neighborhood center in the area. This 20.39-acre park has several ramadas and picnic tables, soccer fields, multi-use fields, a baseball field, uncovered basketball courts, and a covered basketball court adjacent to Northwest Center. Mansfield Pool, which has a wading pool, diving bay, and slide, was built in 1963. Public artwork is located in the park, and the North 6th Avenue Dog Park is located across the street. Mansfield Park is home to the Harambee Festival, a celebration of African-American culture, and is also the site of many Martin Luther King Day activities.
