Community Performing Arts Center

The center complex consists of a state-of-the-art 500-seat theater, a smaller theater studio, a rehearsal studio, art gallery, classrooms and support facilities. The center provides the one and only true public performing arts and education venue between Tucson and Nogales, attracting quality performers and serving the needs of many local clubs and organizations.

It is a fascinating subject that most of us don't know much about except from the movies.
      02/08/12	Allan Riding Sextet with Julie Anne Community Performing Arts Center Allan Riding Sextet with Julie Anne Presented by Community Performing Arts Center Foundation at Community Performing Arts Center February 8, 2012 The Sextet is comprised of Trumpet/Flugel Horn, Trombone, Alto/Tenor Sax and Flute, and a rhythm section of Piano, Bass and Drums. The musical focus of the sextet is straight ahead Jazz from the 1940s through 1970s, playing mainly well known standards with a sprinkling of Jazz originals including ballads, Swing and Latin numbers, as well as Dixieland arrangements. The music is fun to listen to and great for dancing.

      02/24/12	Dixie Cats Community Performing Arts Center Dixie Cats Presented by Community Performing Arts Center Foundation at Community Performing Arts Center February 24, 2012 Southern Arizonans are fortunate to have the Dixie Cats appearing at the Performance & Art Center. This six-piece Dixieland Band has been performing in the area and Tucson for many years. The band is made up of a number of musicians who have also performed with such bands as The Bourbon Street Jazz Band, The Dixie Sidewinders and the Rob Wright Dixieland Show Band. The Dixie Cats specialize in New Orleans-style jazz that includes gospel and blues.

The dancers are performing at various locations across Arizona to raise funds to repair costumes, make new costumes and offset travel expenses. Join us for a spectacular performance full of dance and music.

Backed by percussion and bass, this is an exceptionally creative and unique program coming to the CPAC stage for the first time.
