    A panel discussion on Alternative Market Alternative Practices will focus on Native artists working in contemporary not traditional mediums. Panelists include Luna, plus Kade L. Twist and Steven Yazzie. Twist’s mixed-media installation Just As I Am was recently added to the permanent collection of the Arizona State Museum of Art. He works with video, installation, sound, text and two-dimensional media. His art is currently featured at the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of the American Indian. Twist is a co-founder of Postcommodity, a contemporary American Indian artist collective.

    Yazzie studied at Phoenix College, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the United States Marine Corps. His work has been exhibited in Spain and the Czech Republic as well as at the Heard Museum, Phoenix Art Museum and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. He works primarily as a painter, but also in sculpture, video installation and mixed media. Yazzie also is a co-founder of the Postcommodity artist collective.
