19th Annual Southwest Indian Art Fair
February 18-February 19, 2012
This 19th annual, southern Arizona's premier Indian art show and market, boasts 200 artists selling thousands of art objects, musical performances, artist demonstrations, dance displays, and auction opportunities. On the expansive front lawn at Arizona State Museum (rain or shine), the Southwest Indian Art Fair offers the southern Arizona community an annual opportunity to celebrate the vibrant, enduring Native cultures of the region through meaningful, educational, and impactful experiences. Talk with the artists about their work and learn about the cultural significance that informs, inspires, and imbues their work. Shop and buy from a wide array of authentic, handmade art including pottery, Hopi katsina dolls, paintings, jewelry, baskets, rugs, blankets, and much more. Enjoy music and dance performances (both days) by southwestern culture groups. Musicians are appearing courtesy of Canyon Records. Schedule posted online soon. Demonstrations will be featured both days as well. Artists will demonstrate making mask making, flute making, rug weaving, sand painting, basket weaving for example. See the event's website for the full schedule of activities.
