Yampa Valley Boys
November 12, 2009
The Yampa Valley Boys will perform in the Civano Neighborhood Center Courtyard. The Yampa Valley Boys, Steve Jones and John Fisher, will take you on a journey to the old west. Their show will feature all acoustic music, plus stories and poems about the cowboy--his ways, his life, his humor, his horse (of course!), and sometimes his favorite cowgirl. The Yampa Valley boys will bring you laughter, maybe a tear or two, and always a good time. Youngsters and old timers have been captivated by the unique manner in which the Yampa Valley Boys preserve some of our American heritage. Keeter Stuart will open the show for the Yampa Valley Boys. Keeter's great uncle, Stan Jones, was one of the finest Western songwriters ever, having written the ever-popular "Ghost Riders in the Sky". Keeter himself has opened for artists like Emmy Lou Harris, Chris Hillman, Doc Watson, and Patty Clayton. Keeter's CD "Ghost Riders, Searchers & Cowpokes" was nominated by the Academy of Western Artists as one of the best Western music albums of 2009, and it is up for the Will Rogers Cowboy Award. He has also been nominated for the Crescendo Award and Album of the Year through the Western Music Association.
