    The Importance of Being Earnest

    The Importance of Being Earnest

Presented by Live Theatre Workshop at Live Theatre Workshop

    September 4-September 12, 2009

Whenever Jack Worthing (Eric Anson) slips away to New York from his Connecticut estate he says he is going to see his (fictitious) wayward brother Ernest. Once there he keeps his privacy by calling himself Ernest - luckily so as his beloved Gavin (Chadwyk Collins) declares he could only love an Ernest. Gavin's cousin Algernon (Christopher Johnson) is the one person who knows Jack's secret and one day he travels down to the estate, announcing himself to Jack's attractive ward Cecil (Jody Mullen) as bad brother Ernest. Cecil is much taken with him and with his name, so on Jack's return home and Gavin's unexpected arrival it becomes clear there are both too many and too few Ernests earnestly courting the young boys.
