August 20, 2009
There will be dancing in the street when the Tucson Symphony Orchestra Percussion Ensemble gives a spectacular performance in honor of the Fourth Avenue Underpass Grand Opening celebration. The four-member TSO Percussion Ensemble is planning a set of world music for entertainment, including a Brazilian Carnival Jam, traditional Guatemalan marimba music, African drumming, Latin Jazz and a tango. Partygoers will also be treated to some light classical works by Antonio Vivaldi performed on marimbas and vibraphone, as well as traditional African and Brazilian drums. Celebrants will also have an opportunity to enter to win one of the TSO's new "Create Your Own Series" subscriptions, valued at $195. This event will take place outside on the Club Congress Patio outside the Hotel Congress.
