Romance abounds amongst these American works! Guest pianist Michael Sheppard performs Gershwin's jazzy and sensuous Piano Concerto in F. Copland's Suite from Appalachian Spring is a beautiful portrayal of American frontier values and Howard Hanson's Symphony No. 2, "Romantic" is a masterpiece of neo-romanticism. The world premiere, "Celebration" is a 'musical chain letter,' a fun celebration of contemporary compositional talent.
